Greg has over 30 years public accounting and private industry experience in federal, international, property, state/local, cost segregation and government relations. He worked in public accounting for many years before his private industry experience. Greg was the Tax Manager for Thousand Trails, Inc., before taking over as Tax Director & Vice President for Red Lion Hotel’s corporate office in 1988. At Red Lion he was responsible for all federal, state, property and local taxes. In 1996, Greg formed Tax Advisors, PLLC, to provide property, state/local tax and cost segregation consulting services. Tax Advisors acts as an advocate for its clients across the U.S., representing them before county and state boards of appeals. Tax Advisors works with senior living, hospitality, timeshare, apartments and all other commercial/industrial properties. Greg has represented clients before the Washington State Board of Tax Appeals, Oregon Tax Court, County Assessment Appeals Boards in California, Montana State Appeals Board and other county and state judicial bodies. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Oregon Society of CPAs, Institute of Professionals in Taxation, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals, and the International Association of Assessing Officers. Greg is a licensed CPA in Arizona, Colorado, Oregon and Washington.
Portia Howard - Vice President
Portia joined Tax Advisors in 2002 as a Property, State and Local Tax Consultant, was promoted to Tax Manager in 2004 and then to Vice President in 2011. Prior to joining Tax Advisors, she was a Revenue Auditor with the Washington Department of Revenue for over eight years. Her private industry experience includes working as a Field Consultant for the Southland Corporation and as an Accountant/Operations Manager for a local start-up. Portia directs Tax Advisors’ Property Tax Services Group, with a focus on securing real estate tax reductions, performing reverse personal property audits, obtaining tax cancellations and exemptions, and assisting clients with tax compliance. Portia has worked with various governmental agencies throughout the United States to resolve tax issues and has obtained millions in tax savings for Tax Advisors’ clients. She graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a BA in Business, attended the post-baccalaureate accounting program at Portland State University, became a CPA in 1997, and currently maintains a CPA Inactive designation.
Jeremy Aldridge - Director of Client Relations
Jeremy joined Tax Advisors in 2016 as Director of Client Relations. Jeremy has a diverse background with experience at Stratus Management and also as a long term owner/operator of an insurance agency. He has over 15 years of experience working with all aspects of growing businesses, while developing a culture where customer and employee satisfaction are key foundations. At Tax Advisors Jeremy works on increasing client and industry awareness, while maintaining a high level of communication. Jeremy graduated with a degree in Organizational Communication from CSU Sacramento, spent two years in Brazil and speaks fluent Portuguese. Jeremy is also very involved with his family. He and his wife have four active children and he enjoys coaching their children’s sports teams.
Michael De Salvo - Director of Valuation Advisory Services
Mike previously worked as an estimator / project manager in construction for 5 years; then trained 7 years as a general commercial real estate appraiser, primarily at Colliers Valuation International (formerly FirstService PGP Valuation, Inc.). Upon graduating from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil (Structural) Engineering and after accumulating over 7,500 hours of appraisal experience. Mike joined the Tax Advisors’ team as the Director of Valuation Advisory Services. Mike now heads up the valuation team at Tax Advisors and works on tax appeal matters. Mike is an experienced and knowledgeable property valuation specialist, having appraised a broad range of properties including, but not limited to: office, retail, industrial, residential, land, subdivisions, and other specialty properties (e.g. hospital/urgent care, mega-churches and other religious institutions, public buildings, self-storage facilities, daycares, schools, nurseries, and right-of-way acquisitions). Mike has achieved several major assessed value reductions for Tax Advisors’ clients in various states.
Jeffrey Marks - Senior Valuation Analyst
Jeffrey Marks joined Tax Advisors in 2017 as a Senior Valuation Analyst. Jeffrey brings with him 25 years of experience in the appraisal industry, as both a fee appraiser and with county assessment offices. Jeffrey’s assessment background includes work in California, Oregon and Washington.
Jeffrey has appraised a broad range of properties including residential, manufactured home parks and self-storage facilities. Jeffrey’s appraisal experience also includes food production, cannabis production and distillery facilities, including machinery and equipment at these facilities, petroleum industry properties, schools, and recreational facilities including golf courses, campgrounds, and marinas. Additionally, Jeffrey has done business personal property audit work, statistical studies, and land valuation studies. Jeffrey holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Warner Pacific College in Portland.
Marcus Dupont - Valuation Analyst
Marcus Dupont joined Tax Advisors in 2016 with a residential real estate brokerage background. He earned his Bachelors of Business Administration from Washington State University Vancouver in 2014. Marcus conducts real property valuation analyses, market research, and assists with business personal property returns.
Tristan Mudd - Valuation Analyst
Tristan Mudd joined Tax Advisors in 2017. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a focus in finance from Washington State University Vancouver in 2016. Tristan conducts real property valuation analyses, market research, and assists with business personal property returns.
