Greg has over 30 years public accounting and private industry experience in federal, international, property, state/local, cost segregation and government relations. He worked in public accounting for many years before his private industry experience. Greg was the Tax Manager for Thousand Trails, Inc., before taking over as Tax Director & Vice President for Red Lion Hotel’s corporate office in 1988. At Red Lion he was responsible for all federal, state, property and local taxes. In 1996, Greg formed Tax Advisors, PLLC, to provide property, state/local tax and cost segregation consulting services. Tax Advisors acts as an advocate for its clients across the U.S., representing them before county and state boards of appeals. Tax Advisors works with senior living, hospitality, timeshare, apartments and all other commercial/industrial properties. Greg has represented clients before the Washington State Board of Tax Appeals, Oregon Tax Court, County Assessment Appeals Boards in California, Montana State Appeals Board and other county and state judicial bodies. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Oregon Society of CPAs, Institute of Professionals in Taxation, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals, and the International Association of Assessing Officers. Greg is a licensed CPA in Arizona, Colorado, Oregon and Washington.
Portia Howard - Vice President
Portia joined Tax Advisors in 2002 as a Property, State and Local Tax Consultant, was promoted to Tax Manager in 2004 and then to Vice President in 2011. Prior to joining Tax Advisors, she was a Revenue Auditor with the Washington Department of Revenue for over eight years. Her private industry experience includes working as a Field Consultant for the Southland Corporation and as an Accountant/Operations Manager for a local start-up. Portia directs Tax Advisors’ Property Tax Services Group, with a focus on securing real estate tax reductions, performing reverse personal property audits, obtaining tax cancellations and exemptions, and assisting clients with tax compliance. Portia has worked with various governmental agencies throughout the United States to resolve tax issues and has obtained millions in tax savings for Tax Advisors’ clients. She graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a BA in Business, attended the post-baccalaureate accounting program at Portland State University, became a CPA in 1997, and currently maintains a CPA Inactive designation.
Jeremy Aldridge - Director of Client Relations
Jeremy joined Tax Advisors in 2016 as Director of Client Relations. Jeremy has a diverse background with experience at Stratus Management and also as a long term owner/operator of an insurance agency. He has over 15 years of experience working with all aspects of growing businesses, while developing a culture where customer and employee satisfaction are key foundations. At Tax Advisors Jeremy works on increasing client and industry awareness, while maintaining a high level of communication. Jeremy graduated with a degree in Organizational Communication from CSU Sacramento, spent two years in Brazil and speaks fluent Portuguese. Jeremy is also very involved with his family. He and his wife have four active children and he enjoys coaching their children’s sports teams.
Greg LeBlanc - Director of Valuation Advisory Services
Greg LeBlanc joined Tax Advisors in May 2019 as a Valuation Director. Prior to Tax Advisors Greg was a Senior Appraiser at Integra Realty Resources and BBG, two well respected national appraisal firms. As a certified fee-based appraiser Greg specialized in multifamily, hospitality, urban mixed-use and land. His work over the last decade has focused on institutional quality assets and urban developments. In addition to traditional appraisal work
Greg also consulted with public and private clients on feasibility studies and residual land analysis, including the use of vertical housing tax credits and a range of municipal grants. At Tax Advisors Greg now heads the valuation team on property tax appeal matters, property tax projections and asset value allocations for real estate purchases. Mr. LeBlanc holds a Master’s in Business Administration and a Real Estate Graduate Certificate from Portland State University, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Maine (Go Black Bears!).
Marcus Dupont - Valuation Analyst
Marcus Dupont joined Tax Advisors in 2016 with a residential real estate brokerage background. He earned his Bachelors of Business Administration from Washington State University Vancouver in 2014. Marcus conducts real property valuation analyses, market research, and assists with business personal property returns.
Will Phinney – Tax Appeal Director
Will joined Tax Advisors in 2019. He brings with him over 35 years of experience in the property tax industry. Since 1994 he has been representing business and individual clients with property tax issues. As a consultant he has represented clients before California County Assessment Appeals Boards, Idaho County Boards of Equalization, the Idaho State Board of Tax Appeals, Washington County Boards of Equalization, the Washington State Board of Tax Appeals, Washington State Superior Court, Oregon Boards of Property Tax Appeals, the Oregon Tax Court, the Oregon supreme Court, the United States Tax court, and various boards in other jurisdictions. Prior to 1994 Will worked as the Chief Hearings Officer for the Oregon Department of Revenue and was the Marion County Land-Use Hearings Officer. He has served on Legislative committees that created the Oregon Tax Court Magistrate Division and developed methodology for valuing low-income housing properties.
Will has worked on all types of properties including specialty properties such as dry-docks, shipyards, factory ships, museums, food processing plants, and automated warehouses. Clients have included the FDIC, MetLife, the United States Postal Service, Hilton Hotels, Rite-Aid, and RREEF. He is an Oregon Registered Appraiser, has a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Willamette University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Yale University.
Chris Snead - Valuation Analyst/IT Administrator
Chris Snead joined Tax Advisors in July 2019 as a Valuation Analyst/IT Administrator. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas in 2019 and has a background in business and data analysis. Chris helps improve and support business technology as well as conducts real property valuation analyses, market research, and assists with business personal property returns.
